Words For The Month

Although I enjoyed my journey to Sedona, I have crash landed a month later. My colleagues at school are starting their usual Spring treachery based on gossip and back stabbing. Hard to believe it is an elementary school. With 28 years in, they have no respect or consideration for what I have endured. But, instead of being the Voice of Reason, I have retreated to the confines of my classroom. The few that stop in know how positive the energy is there and the view of the Hudson River can't be beat. I have abandoned ship. It is every man for themself. This is a big change for me. Placing myself first and saying very little. I traveled all the way to Sedona to find out I am heading into Saturn Return. Although a year shy of it, I feel the changes. Not happy where I'm at, but not sure where I am going. Subtle changes have happened though. I cut back my hours reading at events. I have no interest in dressing up and reading for the masses anymore. I'd rather be home. I did start that book about my experiences. I'm back at the gym and trying to jump start a social life that does not include Tarot cards. All good things to do in the Spring. I think the last two years till retirement will be way different. More introspective and all about ME! Some travel, now that I am not being bled dry by my children. I don't think this Saturn Return will be as harsh as the last. Mercury is also Retrograde this month, so I am planning my new chapter and taking things slow. Opportunities are springing up even as I slow down. But, I remain Open to Where the Universe is Guiding Me.

Susan Barbara Apollon

I met Susan Barbara Appollon at a wedding I was reading Tarot at. As usual, I only had a few minutes to speak with her. But, I remember her calming voice. She was a very handsome woman who told me she was a psychotherapist and healer. She was writing a book about terminal illness. Barbara asked me if her book would be published, I definitely saw that it would. The Universe knows there are not many people who would tackle such a subject. When my plane touched down in NYC last month, there was a voicemail from Susan. She was kind enough to call and let me know the book was published. I am so proud of her! The book is titled, Touched by the Extraordinary, Insights, Lessons & True Stories of Spirit & Love to Transform & Heal the Soul. You can order the book at the link below, but I must say I enjoyed playing the audio clips on her website. As I googled around looking for a picture of her, I found she writes inspirational verse as well. You'll find her on FaceBook where I friended her to read her positive verse. You'll hear Barbara's healing voice tell some beautiful stories from her new book here, Touched By The Extraordinary

Hair Tinsel

While in Sedona, I noticed some women whose hair seemed to glitter. I was very intrigued, but afraid to ask them with my NYC accent, I thought they'd think I'm crazy. "Excuse me, why is your head glittering?" They'd probably think I was out in the sun too long. On my last day, I got a much needed pedicure. My technician's hair glittered too, so I asked. She called them, Shimmers. But, online you will find them listed as Hair Tinsel. And that is exactly what it is. Remember that old fashion tinsel in strands that you put on the Christmas tree? My Aunt Jean use to put it on her tree! Well, that is exactly what it is, but you tie it in your hair. They come in 20" and 40" strands and in every color you can imagine. I like the silver and gold tones, but I plan to try purple as well. Don't get the 20", I learned that the hard way, because when they tie the tinsel, they fold the tinsel in half. Get the 40" if you have shoulder length hair or longer and cut the tinsel to your length. YouTube has how to videos on how to tie hair tinsel. And if you ask around at salons, you can find one that will do it for you. I love this stuff. My blonde hair is kind of dark, so it gives it a nice magical look especially being a Tarot card reader at events. Whether you wear your hair up in a bun or down, the tinsel gives it a subtle pop. You can put as many strands as you want, or just a few. I've been getting lots of compliments. I must say with all the events I have read at for over a decade, I have NEVER seen this till I traveled to Sedona. You just tie it in your hair and it will eventually fall out in 2-6 weeks. Walmart online even sells hair tinsel. How come I have not seen this in NYC and we are suppose to have everything? So glad I found this item. Makes me sparkle on a daily basis.

Salt Scrubs

My Quest for the Perfect Salt Scrub has Finally Come to an End. And like Dorothy, in the Wizard of Oz, it was in front of me the Whole Damn Time. During my trips to Virginia Beach, I always stop in the Williamsburg Salt Spa and chill in the cave. I stock up on their scrub as well. I decided there had to be a salt scrub like it closer to home. I have asked healers, massage therapists, scoured stores from Target to Whole Foods. Nothing, not even close. My bathroom looks like a mad scientist's laboratory, there are bottles and jars everywhere. Once these items failed the scrub test, they just sit there. I am sure they told me in Williamsburg they could mail, I am sure I asked, but a bottle of Pinot can wipe out my stored data. Don't ask me why, I guess I was getting desperate, but I woke up and decided hey, let me check online with the Williamsburg Salt Spa. Intuition always works best at night, even the author above, Barbara states that. That sexy Mountain Man in Sedona takes baths in salt. My Reiki masters do too. But, that's not enough for me. I don't know if it is because I am Germanic in background, or read way too many people in a night or just the grittiness of NYC and my job, but I need to feel some serious scrubbing going on. Sure enough, my Quest ended. Williamsburg Salt Spa will ship. And I will add, their jars are big and inexpensive and I got exactly what I wanted. I like the Coconut Lime one, but I'm also trying a Pepper one. Love this place and their online shop. Williamsburg Salt Spa.

Next month, I'll be Reporting My Findings About Houston, Texas. Peace.
